1. Introduction
- To carry out this tutorial you'll need the following:
a. The demonstration scene above can be downloaded for FREE here !
The file comes complete with the texture bitmap files that we've provided in jpeg & gif formats. A word of advice - You may need to update the file formats/paths to suit your needs !
b. You'll need a lightprobe (HDR) image available at Paul Debevec's Light Probe Gallery - download the kitchen_probe.hdr file for this scene.
c. Next You will need HDRShop - an image processing tool that lets you view and modify HDR images. Get it here...
d. Once you've downloaded all the files, you'll need to use HDRShop to convert the kitchen_probe.hdr into a tif image file.
Load the kitchen_probe.hdr file into HDRShop. Select Image... Panorama... Panoramic transformations, then choose Latitude/Longitude from the drop down list under Destination Image. Make sure that the Source Image Format is set to Lightprobe Angular. Click OK to transform your image.
Stop down the exposure of the image before you save your tif file. You can do this by pressing the - button 4 or 5 times, or go to View... Exposure... 1/10 stop down.
Now save your tif file by selecting File... saveas... Tiff, & save using current display settings.
You should end up with a tif file that looks something like this:

2. Pupi's tutorial
Because it is a quite simple model I
am not going to introduce the
modeling step by step. On these ways
you can find 2 modelling tutorials, a
very simple one and another one for
advanced learners:

http://www.7thchamber.com/tutorials/Chev/index.htm
If we are satisfied with the model,
then finally we should share it
further a little bit , because it is better
in the uvw mapping if it consists
of more polygons.
