Q. Your website oyonale.com is a wonderful labyrinth of short fantasy
> stories and images, based around "The Book of Beginings". Can you explain
> your creative process to us ? What comes first, the writing or the image ?
A. The stories are usually derived from the image, or inspired by the
context of the image. It's something of an automatic process: there's
the image, with some keywords attached to it and then I start
improvising... It used to be quite easy in fact, but I think I have
exhausted the concept now. The inspiration for the writing is more
literary, writers like Thomas Pynchon or Dino Buzzati, who also mix
detailed realism and surreal fantasy.
